Big Mac French Toast

Here’s a fun recipe for Big Mac French Toast, a savory twist on the classic dish:

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of thick bread (Texas toast or brioche works well)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp ketchup
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese
  • 1 slice American cheese
  • 2 pickle slices
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for cooking

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, salt, and pepper.
  2. Make the Sauce: In another bowl, mix the mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup. Set aside.
  3. Dip the Bread: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
  4. Cook the Bread: Place the bread in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Assemble: On one slice of French toast, spread a layer of the sauce, add the cheddar cheese, pickles, and the second slice of French toast. Top with the American cheese and drizzle with more sauce.
  6. Melt the Cheese: Cover the skillet for a minute or two to help melt the cheese.
  7. Serve: Slice in half and serve warm.
