Cream Pie with Peanut Butter and Amish

Here’s a delicious recipe for a Peanut Butter Cream Pie inspired by Amish cooking!

Peanut Butter Cream Pie

Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Chocolate shavings or crushed peanuts for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Make the Crust:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Let it cool completely.

2. Prepare the Filling:

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add peanut butter and powdered sugar, mixing until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture until combined.

3. Assemble the Pie:

  • Pour the filling into the cooled graham cracker crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

4. Make the Topping:

  • In a mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  • Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the top of the pie.

5. Garnish and Serve:

  • Optionally, garnish with chocolate shavings or crushed peanuts.
  • Slice and enjoy your delicious Peanut Butter Cream Pie!

Tips

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the filling.
  • This pie is best served chilled and can be made a day ahead for convenience!
