If you’d like to try making a Peach Cobbler-inspired Krispy Kreme-style donut at home, here’s a simple recipe that mimics the flavors of the limited-time Peach Cobbler donut:

Ingredients:

For the Donuts:

  • 1 package of refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands or similar)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Peach Cobbler Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons peach preserves or peach syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream or milk
  • Pinch of salt

For the Peach Filling (Optional):

  • 1/2 cup canned peach pie filling or diced fresh peaches
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Streusel Topping (Optional):

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

1. Make the Streusel Topping (optional):

  • In a small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cubed butter.
  • Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Set aside.

2. Prepare the Donuts:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut each biscuit into a donut shape using a round cutter or simply press your thumb through the center of each biscuit.
  • Fry the dough in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

3. Peach Filling (Optional):

  • If you want to add some peach filling to the donuts, heat canned peach pie filling or fresh diced peaches in a small saucepan over medium heat, adding a pinch of cinnamon and brown sugar. Stir until warmed and slightly thickened. Allow it to cool.

4. Prepare the Peach Cobbler Glaze:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, peach preserves, cinnamon, cream, and a pinch of salt. Add more milk or powdered sugar to adjust the glaze to your desired consistency.

5. Assemble the Donuts:

  • Dip the fried donuts into the peach glaze while they’re still warm, ensuring they are generously coated.
  • Optionally, top with the streusel topping by sprinkling it over the donut or gently pressing it into the glaze.
  • If using the peach filling, carefully pipe or spoon some into the center of each donut.

6. Serve:

  • Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the warm, comforting flavors of your homemade Peach Cobbler-inspired donuts!
