Here’s a delicious recipe for Smashing Patties with a flavorful “Confidential Sauce.” This recipe is perfect for burgers or as a standalone dish!

Smashing Patties

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Burger buns (optional)
  • Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Form the Patties:
    • Divide the ground beef into four equal portions (about 4 oz each). Gently shape them into balls without overworking the meat.
  2. Preheat the Pan:
    • Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Smash the Patties:
    • Place the meat balls on the hot skillet. Use a spatula or a burger press to smash them down into thin patties. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook:
    • Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. Assemble:
    • If using burger buns, toast them lightly on the skillet. Assemble your patties with your favorite toppings.

Confidential Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: A splash of hot sauce for extra kick

Instructions:

  1. Combine Ingredients:
    • In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  2. Serve:
    • Spread the Confidential Sauce on your patties or use it as a dip!
