Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake

Posted on January 12, 2025

Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake is a simple, delicious dessert that combines the sweet and tangy flavors of cheesecake and strawberries with a buttery, cake-like topping. The best part? It’s incredibly easy to make! Here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix (or white cake mix)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (optional, for extra strawberry flavor)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the cream cheese layer: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth and creamy. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Add the strawberry pie filling: Spoon the strawberry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer. If you want extra strawberry flavor, you can add fresh or frozen strawberries on top of the pie filling.
  4. Add the cake mix: Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the strawberry and cream cheese layers. Don’t mix it in—just let the dry cake mix sit on top.
  5. Top with butter: Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix. This will create a golden, crumbly topping as it bakes.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. You may want to check around the 40-minute mark to ensure the top isn’t over-browning.
  7. Serve: Allow the dump cake to cool for a few minutes before serving. You can dust the top with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness, or serve it with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Tips:

  • For a lighter texture: You can substitute the yellow cake mix with a white cake mix for a lighter, fluffier topping.
  • Add extra flavor: If you love cheesecake, you can mix a little bit of sour cream or Greek yogurt into the cream cheese layer for a tangier taste.
  • Fruit variations: Try swapping out the strawberry pie filling for blueberry or cherry pie filling for different fruit flavors.

Enjoy your Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake—a simple, indulgent treat that’s sure to be a hit at any occasion!
